1.
Organic food has more nutrients
Generally, the soil for planting organic food is specially maintained. The vegetables and fruits cultivated by organic farming methods (such as rotation planting and organic fertilizer) have twice as many vitamins, minerals and other nutrients as the plants cultivated by traditional methods. Therefore, organic foods contain high levels of antioxidants to resist diseases and various vitamins needed by the human body.
2.
Organic food tastes better
People generally feel that food grown in organic soil tastes better, and organic oranges and tomatoes are more sweet, fresh and juicy. Washington State University once did a study on organic apples. Researchers analyzed the firmness of apples at the beginning of harvest and after 6 months of storage. Experiments show that the firmness of organic apples is higher than that of other non organic apples after 6 months. In terms of sugar content, organic apples are also the sweetest, and these results have also been tested by consumers.
3.
Organic food can Reduce the health risks
Industrial pesticides and pesticides used in traditional agriculture are harmful to human health, and there will be residues in the process of food cooking. These components are the culprit of many allergies, and are also closely related to many types of cancer and Alzheimer's disease. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has conducted a study on the pesticides currently used. The results show that 60% of herbicides, 90% of fungicides and 30% of pesticides have the potential risk of causing cancer. Organic agriculture excludes these pesticides and chemicals from our food.
In addition, antibiotics commonly used in traditional animal breeding will cause animals to produce antibiotic resistant pathogens, while organic agriculture prohibits the use of antibiotics in animal breeding. Therefore, organic agriculture is not only healthier for consumers, but also reduces the health risks of farmers exposed to chemicals and artificial pesticides.
